He pioneered the tri-modal treatment which is the actual removal of the lung lining and sometimes parts of the lung itself while using chemotherapy and radiation. He created the Internationl Pleural Mesothelioma Program which focuses on developing better, more effective treatment protocols for patients that suffer from pleural mesothelioma.
